Casting webinar and applications. Last updated: 1 October 2026
This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you register for THE COMEBACK casting webinar, or go on to apply, a Start Over television documentary project. It covers the webinar registration form and anything you send us as part of applying. It is written to be read, not survived, so it is in plain English.
This policy applies only to the casting page at thecomeback.movie. A separate policy, without the advertising section below, covers the same casting page at startovermovement.com, which carries no tracking.
Two other Start Over policies, on startovermovement.com, cover different things. If you registered for a Start Over live or online event, or bought a ticket, the events privacy policy covers that. If you applied to become a co-author in the Start Over Movement Book Series, the book series privacy policy covers that. This one is only about casting.
The data controller responsible for your personal information is:
START OVER MOVEMENT HOLDINGS LTD
5 Railway Terrace, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 7AW
Registered in England and Wales, company number 16905154
Email: [email protected]
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean START OVER MOVEMENT HOLDINGS LTD.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller, registration number ZC234946, and pay the data protection fee.
Taking part happens in stages, and a different company handles each one. It is worth knowing which is which.
Step one, registering for the webinar. You leave your contact details on a short form so we can confirm your place on the live casting webinar with Marco Robinson. At this step we receive:
Nothing about your story is asked for at this step. That form is provided by our CRM platform, GoHighLevel. Your confirmation email also contains a link to register for the webinar itself on Zoom, a separate step covered below.
The live webinar. Marco hosts the webinar live on Zoom. Joining it does not involve giving us any further personal information beyond what Zoom itself collects to run the session and send you the link, which is covered by Zoom's own privacy policy, not this one.
Step two, the full application, only if you want to take it further. After the webinar, if you are still interested, Marco sends you a link to the full application form himself. That form is a separate site run for us by Typeform. It is long, and it is where the substance of your application lives. When you submit it we receive:
Your story. Most of that second form is your story, in your own words. It asks what the biggest setback, loss or adversity of your life was, what your lowest point was, what it did to you, why you decided to turn things around, how you rebuilt, where you are now, and why your story deserves to be seen. Whatever you choose to write in those answers, we hold.
If you register for the webinar and never go on to the full application, we hold nothing but your contact details, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Anything else you send us. If you email us, or reply to a message from us, we hold whatever you choose to put in it.
Technical information. Some technical information reaches the companies that serve our pages and our form, such as your IP address, browser and device type.
If you accept cookies on the casting page, we also use two tools, the Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity, described in the next section. The Meta Pixel records that a visit happened and, if you go on to register, that a registration was completed. Microsoft Clarity records how the page is used. If you do not accept, or you reject, neither tool runs and nothing is sent to Meta or Microsoft.
The application form in step two is a separate website run by Typeform, which sets the cookies it needs to make the form work, and which runs an automated check using Google reCAPTCHA to confirm that submissions come from a person rather than a bot. That check sends your IP address and information about how you use the form to Google. Typeform's own privacy and cookie policies cover what happens while you are on that form, alongside this notice. The Meta Pixel is not on the Typeform form.
We advertise THE COMEBACK, and we want to know whether our advertising works and how people use this page. To do that we use two tools: the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, and Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Corporation.
They only run if you say yes. When you first arrive, a banner asks whether you accept these cookies. Until you accept, both tools are switched off. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you lose nothing by rejecting: the page and the form work in exactly the same way.
What the Meta Pixel records, if you accept. That someone visited the page, that a registration was completed, the address of the page and the page you came from, and technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and a cookie identifier. Meta uses that to tell us how many people came from our adverts, and to show our adverts to people who are likely to be interested. For collecting this information through the pixel, we and Meta are joint controllers, under Meta's terms for this.
What Microsoft Clarity records, if you accept. How the page is used: clicks, scrolling, mouse movement and which parts of the page are viewed, along with technical information such as your IP address (from which an approximate location is worked out), browser and device. Clarity can play this back as a recording of the visit and turn it into heatmaps, which show us where the page works and where it could be clearer. We use Clarity's analytics features only, not its advertising features.
What they never see. We do not send Meta or Microsoft your name, email address or phone number, and we do not send them anything from your application or your story. The registration form sits in a separate frame provided by GoHighLevel, which neither tool can see into, and neither tool is on the full application form in step two. Nothing you write about your life goes to Meta or Microsoft.
Please be aware of one thing. Because THE COMEBACK is about people who have come through hardship, the fact that you visited this page is not something we ever use to guess anything about your health, finances or personal life, and we do not ask Meta to target people on those grounds. Meta's and Microsoft's own systems act on the information they receive under their own policies, which we do not control. If that troubles you, reject the cookies.
Changing your mind. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link on the page. Withdrawing does not make anything that happened beforehand unlawful, but it stops both tools from that point on.
Cookies set by the page itself. GoHighLevel, the platform that runs this page and our registration form, sets one cookie and some browser storage of its own as soon as the page loads. It uses them to link a registration to the pages and advert link that led to it, and they are not controlled by the cookie banner. They are listed below with everything else.
The cookies and browser storage used on the casting page, and how long they last (taken from a scan of the live page on 1 October 2026):
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| tvdoc_ad_consent | Us, in your browser's storage | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies, so we do not ask on every page | 6 months |
| _fbp | Meta Pixel, only if you accept | Recognises your browser so Meta can measure our adverts | 90 days |
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity, only if you accept | Keeps your Clarity visitor ID, so your visits can be grouped together | 1 year |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity, only if you accept | Joins the pages of one visit into a single recording | 1 day |
| msgsndr_id | GoHighLevel, our CRM | A visitor ID that links a registration to the pages you visited before it | About 1 year |
| GoHighLevel session history | GoHighLevel, in your browser's storage | Remembers the pages and advert link of your visit, so they are attached to your registration | Until you clear your browser's storage |
| Meta's own cookies, such as fr | Meta, on its own domains, only if you accept | Meta's own identification and advertising, usually only if you also use Facebook or Instagram | Set by Meta |
| Microsoft's own cookies, such as MUID, CLID, MR, SM and ANONCHK | Microsoft, on its own domains, only if you accept | Microsoft's own identification of browsers and the running of Clarity | Set by Microsoft |
Meta's use of the information it receives is covered by Meta's own privacy policy, at facebook.com/privacy/policy. Microsoft's is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement, at privacy.microsoft.com.
This section matters more than any other, so please read it.
The questions we ask invite you to talk about the hardest parts of your life. Depending on your story, your answers may reveal things the law treats as especially sensitive, called "special category" information. That can include information about your physical or mental health, addiction and recovery, disability, your religious or philosophical beliefs, your racial or ethnic origin, your sex life or sexual orientation. Your story may also touch on criminal offences, whether committed by you or against you.
We only hold that information because you have chosen to give it to us, and we ask for your explicit consent to do so. That is the legal basis we rely on for it, under Article 9(2)(a) of the UK GDPR.
What that means in practice:
If you would rather not put something sensitive in a web form, you can apply with the outline of your story and tell us the rest later, in person, if you are shortlisted.
We do not add you to a marketing list because you applied. If you want to hear from Start Over generally, that is a separate choice you make separately.
We do not sell your information. We do not use your application or your story for advertising. The only advertising use is the Meta Pixel described above, and only if you accept it. We do not share your story with anyone outside the list above without asking you first.
Several of the companies that handle your information are outside the UK, in different places.
Your story is held in Spain. The full application form is provided by TYPEFORM, S.L., which is based in Barcelona. Spain is covered by the UK's adequacy regulations, which means personal data can be sent there from the UK without any further safeguard being needed.
Your contact details go to the United States. Our CRM platform, GoHighLevel, is a US company, and so is Zoom, if you register for the webinar itself. Those transfers are made under the safeguards permitted by UK data protection law, being the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the receiving company is certified under it, and the International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where it is not.
If you accept cookies, the pixel data goes to Meta, and the Clarity data goes to Microsoft. Meta Platforms Ireland Limited is in Ireland, and it passes information to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the United States. Microsoft Corporation is in the United States. The same kinds of safeguard apply.
Typeform may also process information from other countries as part of running its service, and the bot check described above sends technical information to Google, under the same kinds of safeguard. You can ask us which safeguard applies to any of them.
If you are in the EEA, the equivalent protections apply under the EU GDPR.
Being shortlisted is not the same as being cast, and applying is not a promise of anything.
If your story is shortlisted, someone from the casting team will contact you by email or phone to talk further, and may ask for more detail. If you are then selected to take part, you will receive separate participation, consent, production and filming agreements, and you will have the chance to read them and take advice before you sign anything.
Nothing you send in your application is filmed, broadcast, published or distributed. Your application is used to decide whether to talk to you further, and for nothing else.
Any filming, and any broadcast, only ever happens under the separate agreements described above, which you would sign first.
We keep applications for 12 months from the close of casting, and then delete them.
If you ask us to delete your application sooner, we will.
If you are selected to take part, the information needed for the production is kept under the separate participation and consent agreements, which set out their own periods.
The cookies described above expire on their own, after the periods in the table in that section. Meta and Microsoft keep the information they receive for the periods in their own policies.
Your application is held in the form provider's systems, which are access controlled and encrypted in transit. Access is limited to the people who need it to run the casting process. We do not keep copies of applications on personal devices.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong that puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office as the law requires.
You have the right to:
To do any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. If you are in the EEA you can instead complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work. We would rather you gave us the chance to put it right first, but it is your right either way.
This casting application is open to people aged 18 or over only. We do not knowingly accept applications from anyone under 18. If we learn that an application has come from someone under 18, we delete it.
Our pages link to other websites, including the platforms that carry our previous programmes. This policy does not cover those websites, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information. Their own policies apply.
If we change how we handle casting applications, we will update this policy and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, and we still hold your application, we will tell you.
